Natural Selection
Natural selection was explained by Charles Darwin- "survival of the fittest" those who are best suited for the environment, survive, and reproduce. Darwin's explanation was that there is variation in traits, more organisms are born that can survive, and survivors live long enough to reproduce and pass on beneficial genes. There are three types of natural selection: stabilizing selection, disruptive selection, and directional. Stabilizing selection is when the middle survives. Disruptive selection is when the two extremes are favored. Directional is when only one survives. Natural selection can be tampered with.
